What should I bear in mind if I want to fit a sink?

Yes, it is possible to fit a sink into a Wastoren® base unit without a drawer. Allow for the space available, the dimensions of the sink and the water and waste connections you will need.

Which cabinet can take a sink?

A sink can be fitted into our base units without a drawer. Bear in mind the following maximum dimensions for the sink:

  • WSUS60-10: maximum 56.5 cm × 39.5 cm

  • WSUS45-10: maximum 41.5 cm × 39.5 cm

Water pipes and waste

Before fitting the sink, check where the connections are. The waste usually comes out of the wall centrally under the sink; the hot water is generally on the left and the cold on the right. Handy to arrange in advance:

  • Isolating valves – these let you shut off the tap later for maintenance without turning off the mains.

  • A suitable trap – choose a trap that fits the space available inside the cabinet.

  • Tap and tap hole – if the sink has a pre-drilled tap hole, fit a standard mixer tap; otherwise choose a wall-mounted tap.

Good to know

We do not supply the worktop the sink is fitted into. Choose a moisture-resistant worktop and allow for this when planning your setup. Finish the joint between the sink, the worktop and the wall neatly with mould-resistant sanitary sealant.
