At what height does the faucet, drain, etc. have to be installed?

The ideal height for the tap and drain depends on the type of washing machine cabinet. Placing the connections at the right height stops hoses kinking or coming under tension, and means the cabinet can be positioned neatly.

Recommended heights per model

  • Base cabinet WSCS1462: install the drain and tap preferably at a height of 120 cm.

  • Tower WSTT185: fit the drain and tap at a height between 60 and 80 cm.

Never place the drain lower than 60 cm above the floor. If the drain sits too low, water can siphon out of the machine by itself, causing faults and incomplete wash cycles.

Electrical connections

  • Install the electrics at least 10 cm above the drain and tap, with enough distance from the water points.

  • With the WSTT185, make sure there is also power for the dryer, preferably at a height of about 120 cm.
