That matters in a construction under constant load from the weight and vibration of a washing machine. MDF consists of far more finely ground wood fibres, close to wood powder. Yes, you can, provided the cabinet is fixed firmly to the load-bearing structure behind it. It is not safe to fix a Wastoren® cabinet into plasterboard alone. Combined with the weight of the cabinet and the appliances, these forces can work a plasterboard-only fixing loose over time. For a safe installation we therefore advise always fixing the cabinet to a solid structure behind the wall.
