Does the cupboard have to be mounted on the wall?
Yes, we advise always fixing a Wastoren® cabinet to the wall. This matters for safety, stability and correct use of the cabinet. The fixing materials needed are supplied as standard.
Why wall fixing is needed
Preventing tipping: without wall fixing, a tall, narrow cabinet can tip when doors and drawers are opened, or from the vibration of the washing machine.
Protection where children climb: children sometimes see drawers as a ladder. Anchoring the cabinet prevents dangerous situations.
Stability: anchoring the cabinet firmly to the wall keeps it straight and safe, even on a floor that is not completely level.
When is fixing especially important?
With tall or narrow setups, for instance with a wall unit on top.
In households with young children.
Given the vibration released during the washing machine’s spin cycle.
